Roasted Red Snapper with Spicy Soy Sauce by @bearnakedfood

Good day everyone! Today we're bringing you a super simple recipe you can follow within the comfort of your own home. Created by Rachelle (@bearnakedfood on Instagram), you will be surprised at how this spicy soy sauce will provide your fresh fish with another depth of flavor.

*Note that this is just a guide for those of you who want to try out something new when it comes to cooking fish, unfortunately there is no step-by-step recipe for this dish*

Looking at the crispy exterior of this fish, we suspected that Rachelle might have used an air-fryer for this dish so we decided to ask her! Turns out that she brushed each part of the fish with oil before broiling it in the oven at around 220 to 230 degrees Celsius.

Of course, an oven is not the only way to achieve this crispy skin! Other methods of cooking include:

  • Air-frying

  • Pan-frying

Now for the most important part of this dish, the sauce!

The Sauce

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (gochugaru)

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon seasame seeds

  • A sprinkle of chopped spring onions

Feel free to use the sauce as a glaze after cooking the fish or simply pour it over your fish! This sauce should work for other fish with flaky textures like seabass as well.

Try this out and let us know how it goes! Tag us on Instagram (@catchofthedaysg), we'd love to see your dishes!
